Other Grooming Policies
At Michael’s Barkery, your pet is very important to us and we would like to assure you that every effort will be made to ensure your pet’s grooming experience is safe and as pleasant as possible. Safety comes first for everyone – people as well as the animals – during the grooming process.
Aging and Special Needs Pets The stress of grooming may result in immediate or latent medical issues including death particularly in older dogs or dogs prone to stress. Michael’s Barkery will take responsible care of your pet and the owner agrees not to hold Michael’s Barkery responsible for any medical effects resulting from grooming services.
Fleas In the event it is discovered a pet has fleas, the owner agrees to be responsible for an additional $10 - $20 charge for a flea bath, depending on the size of the dog. If the condition is extreme Michael’s Barkery reserves the right to refuse service due to the potential health problems posed to other pets and groomers. Pre-existing Conditions Occasionally, grooming can expose a hidden medical problem or aggravate a current one. This can occur during or after grooming. Please make sure to alert us of any current or past issues so that we can provide the best and safest care possible for your pet. Michael’s Barkery will not be held responsible for any pre-existing conditions discovered during grooming. The owner also understands that grooming can aggravate pre-existing conditions that the pet may have including but not limited to heart disease, seizure disorders and arthritis. SafetyThe owner is responsible for informing Michael’s Barkery of any behavioral issues a pet may have including but not limited to aggressive tendencies, biting or being dog aggressive. If owner fails to notify us of any potential danger or behavioral issue, the owner will be liable for all medical fees, out of work compensation, as well as any and all property damage. We will make every effort to groom uncooperative pets, however, if we believe the pet or groomers are at risk Michael’s Barkery reserves the right to refuse grooming services or to stop grooming services at any time to protect the health and safety of the groomer or pet. A soft muzzle may be used for both the safety of the groomer and pet.
Veterinary Care Should veterinary care be necessary as a result of any services rendered by Michael’s Barkery, Michael’s Barkery must be notified within 48 hours of such care. Reimbursement for such care will be at the sole discretion of Michael’s Barkery.
